Hokkaido Japan Hemp Description
Following a new trade deal between Japan and France whereby European hemp stock with less than 0.2% THC will be introduced, Ace Seeds has taken the decision to make this native variety available to collectors, preservationists and to breeders.
Hokkaido Japan Hemp's structure is distinctly reminiscent of Ace Seeds' China Yunnan indica pheno although it is more vigorous, has more branching with longer inter-nodes and much darker leaves. It is a 50/50 indica/sativa strain and can be grown very successfully indoors as well as in its natural outdoor environment. Flowering commences outdoors shortly after the summer solstice and is over in a 6 - 8 week period for August/ear;y September harvests in northern latitudes. Its flowers resemble spiky landrace sativa blooms with few trichomes.
It has an average resistance to spider mite, more so in the case of white fly but has high resistance to powdery mildew, botrytis, extremes of hot and cold weather with its limits of suitability for outdoor cultivation being between 0° - 50° N and S.
THC levels are between 0.6 - 1% while CBD is also low at less than 0.6%. Terpene production is also low with a little alpha-pinene being produced.
