• Snoop Dogg and Ted Chung join forces to launch marijuana-based company that merges ‘cannabis and pop culture.’

ss3Known advocates and users of cannabis, Snoop Dogg and Ted Chung have recently announced the launch of their marijuana- based company, Merry Jane, whilst at TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco.

Snoop Dogg, a well-known rap icon, and Ted Chung, an influential media entrepreneur, have described their new company as “a premier media platform at the intersection of cannabis and pop culture”.

The company plans to publish information on every facet of cannabis, acting as a well-informed source of information for those who are interested in the cultural, economic, and lifestyle movements and developments of marijuana around the world. It will also aim to be the first port of call for cannabis lovers who require insights, information, news, and business guidance.

The pioneering new platform will also feature a video interview series called Deflowered. This will include a catalogue of high profile innovators who will document and talk about the very latest news on cannabis policy and legalisation as well as business, cultural, lifestyle and economic topics.

But that’s not all – the highly anticipated platform also aims to provide information about the latest cannabis products to come onto the market, and will even feature a handy location mapping service, which will show you where to find dispensaries.

In response to the announcement of his new company, Snoop Dogg has been quoted in the media as saying: “After watching where the cannabis industry is headed, I wanted to create a platform that will take this movement further by creating a destination where people can find fresh content.

“Merry Jane is a game-changing platform for pop culture. It’s a new frontier y’all. We will be like the encyclopaedia to the cannabis world.” The platform already has a whole host of supporters and partners including Seth Rogen, Guy Osery, Miley Cyrus, and venture capital firm Casa Verde Capital.

Positioned as an encyclopaedia for anything that you would want or need to know about marijuana, the site is scheduled to launch in October. However, ahead of the full launch, Merryjane.com is already live for those who want to apply and register early to access a beta version of the platform.

The site, which will be ad-supported, has already expressed plans to connect with a wide spectrum of legal shops and customers in all corners of the world, creating a network of pot lovers around the globe.

The news hasn’t come as a big surprise to many, considering that Snoop Dogg, who uses cannabis for medical purposes, has been quoted in the media on numerous occasions stating why marijuana is such a passion for him and why it has become synonymous with his entertainment persona.

He recently said: “It is a peace situation for me. Every time I have been around it, I have seen beautiful things happen. I’ve seen people manifest love, peace and harmony.”

He is also no stranger to making bold predictions and statements when it comes to pot, predicting that cannabis will be legal in California as well as another 20 US states in two or more years.
